Community Service

November 1, 2019

Willington Nameplate, Inc., (WNP) a leading manufacturer of permanent labeling solutions closed its doors in Stafford Springs, CT on October 17, 2019 to help Opportunity Works Connecticut, Inc. (OWC) in Rockville, CT. OWC is a non-profit agency that supports people with intellectual and physical disabilities.

Normally businesses that perform community service limit it to a few hours or the activity of donating a can of food for a local pantry. WNP went above and beyond most expectations for a community service event and shut down their business for a full day. The elements (rain/wind) did not slow the team down a bit; employees cut apart a fallen telephone pole and installed landscaping timbers. Inside employees painted or repaired the walls, built worktables, organized the basement, fixed plumbing, cleaned walls and furniture, and performed safety audits.
