Willington Nameplate — CMMC Compliance

Willington Nameplate Pursuing CMMC — Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification from the US Department of Defense

Cybersecurity

Starting in 2021, Willington Nameplate (WNP) began the rigorous certification process set forth by the US Department of Defense to attain the CMMC — Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification. This pivotal compliance framework indicates that enhanced cybersecurity practices are firmly integrated into the quality management systems of companies that wish to bid on defense contracts.

Under CMMC, contractors like WNP will be required to safeguard sensitive information by adhering to specific protocols. The path to earn the CMMC designation requires companies to undertake a meticulous inventory of their quality management systems and make changes as dictated by the regulations. WNP is on target to receive its certification in early 2025.

Aerospace and defense contracts are invaluable to WNP, and this new cybersecurity prevention model will not affect the effortless experience we promise our customers. These stringent quality and safety checkpoints ensure that parts and processes have been inspected, documented and held to the highest standards. As cybersecurity threats increase worldwide, customers will know that WNP is well-equipped to adapt to any changing regulations and will maintain its compliance to protect their data.

Being proactive about potential data breaches is what led President, Brett Greene to decide that mitigating the risk and implementing the strictest security controls is what was best for WNP, as a trusted provider of goods and services to the aerospace and defense industries.

“When clients see that we are a CMMC-compliant company, customers will know immediately that they can trust that their information is secure and that the highest level of cybersecurity practices are in place,” states Greene.

As a CMMC-certified manufacturer, aerospace and defense customers will expect that their information will be safeguarded against additional costs associated with non-compliance or non-conformance requests, and, if any changes are required by the government, their work with WNP will not be affected.

Since its founding in 1965, WNP has been steadfast in its quality standards.  For the past 60 years, WNP has led the industry in maintaining the highest quality controls across every aspect of the business.
