Equipment Update: New & Improved Allen Datagraph Digital Cutter
One type of Continuous Improvement is the evaluation of equipment, as well as processes and people. Our recent decision to replace our old Allen Datagraph digital cutter with a newer model was based on the reduction in serviceability, the necessity to move to digital input, and the need for a faster and more efficient process for cutting roll labels.
This video captures the features of the newer Allen DataGraph digital cutter.
In the video, you can see that, in one continuous pass, the labels get a laminate cap, are cut out according to spec, and the excess material (matrix) is stripped before the final parts are separated into smaller rolls per customer requirements.
The video shows parts printed two and four across; the parts are then collected on corresponding rolls (3” x 4 OR 6” x 2), depending on the order. You can also view this video on our YouTube Channel HERE.
