Business Development Associate

Reports to: Business Development Leader

Summary: This position will be responsible for outbound sales calls, pipeline management, pipeline development, and for generating and qualifying leads.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To maintain the highest quality standards and the right to stop production of any job if those quality standards are not met
  • Willing to assist in any and all areas within the company on an “as needed” basis
  • Customer touches – Phone, Email, Letter
  • Identify new business opportunities
  • Track customer interaction using ACT CRM
  • Lead generation and prospect qualification
  • Develop pricing models for specific customers or industries
  • Research markets/industries for “fit” to core business
  • Analyze customer buying behaviors and look for trends
  • Match up the appropriate marketing collateral for each prospect
  • Collect required technical information to support the estimating team
  • Obtain competitive information and document findings
  • Perform quote follow up and analyze lost business opportunities
  • Pull together sample packages and technical documentation for customers
  • Occasionally visit customers, attend trade shows, participate in workshops and seminars

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Communicates effectively both written and verbally
  • Technical competencies in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organized and efficient with good attention to detail
  • Strong time management skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing capabilities


  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Sales related experience
