CNC Operator

Reports to: Department Lead

Summary: Responsible for operating all CNC equipment within the Fabrication Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest quality standards and the Right To Stop production of any job if those quality standards are not met
  • Be willing to assist in any and all areas within the company on an “as-needed” basis
  • Learn all aspects of the Fabrication Department
  • Have basic understanding of CNC programming
  • Operate CNC Mill, Laser and Turret Press
  • Deburr parts as required
  • Perform first piece inspection as required
  • Perform basic maintenance procedures

Level 1 Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Reads and comprehends blueprints
  • Communicates effectively both in writing and verbally
  • Basic operation of all CNC machines
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Solid math skills

Level 2 Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. (Includes all qualifications from previous level)

  • Sets up and runs all parts on any CNC machine
  • Advanced troubleshooting on all equipment

Level 3 Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. (Includes all qualifications from previous levels)

  • Capable of programming all CNC machines
  • Can train others to run parts on a CNC machine
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating this equipment

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma, GED
  • Prior CNC experience strongly preferred

Physical Demands (reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties):

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
