Reports to: Operations Manager
Summary: Day to day oversight of all production related activities in regards to safety, quality, delivery, cross-training, productivity and employee development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- To maintain the highest quality standards and the right to stop production of any job if those quality standards are not met
- Willing to assist in any and all areas within the company on an “as needed” basis
- Schedule and prioritize work and resources throughout production
- Ensure a safe work environment and be an active member for the Safety Committee
- Responsible for the resource needs of the department, labor and equipment
- Develop and execute cross-training plans
- Develop and maintain Standard Work for all activities
- Coordinate department budgets and manage department expenses
- Communicate department KPI’s and other company communications
- Ensure employee reviews are completed on-time and communicated thoroughly
- Review daily timecards for accuracy
- Provide leadership and guidance to employees
- Mentorship for team leads
- Responsible for training and education of all employees
- Maintain compliance to all company policies and procedures
- Determine appropriate levels of compensation for employees
- Execute and manage the continuous improvement, Lean and 6S initiatives
- Adhere to all quality requirements and perform RCCA as required
- Coordinate capital equipment needs with Operations Manager
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Reads and comprehends blueprints
- Understands customer specifications
- Communicates effectively both written and verbally
- Possess strong leadership qualities
- Adept at using computers, including all Microsoft products
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma, GED
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 7+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
