Production Leader

Reports to: Operations Manager

Summary: Day to day oversight of all production related activities in regards to safety, quality, delivery, cross-training, productivity and employee development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To maintain the highest quality standards and the right to stop production of any job if those quality standards are not met
  • Willing to assist in any and all areas within the company on an “as needed” basis
  • Schedule and prioritize work and resources throughout production
  • Ensure a safe work environment and be an active member for the Safety Committee
  • Responsible for the resource needs of the department, labor and equipment
  • Develop and execute cross-training plans
  • Develop and maintain Standard Work for all activities
  • Coordinate department budgets and manage department expenses
  • Communicate department KPI’s and other company communications
  • Ensure employee reviews are completed on-time and communicated thoroughly
  • Review daily timecards for accuracy
  • Provide leadership and guidance to employees
  • Mentorship for team leads
  • Responsible for training and education of all employees
  • Maintain compliance to all company policies and procedures
  • Determine appropriate levels of compensation for employees
  • Execute and manage the continuous improvement, Lean and 6S initiatives
  • Adhere to all quality requirements and perform RCCA as required
  • Coordinate capital equipment needs with Operations Manager

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Reads and comprehends blueprints
  • Understands customer specifications
  • Communicates effectively both written and verbally
  • Possess strong leadership qualities
  • Adept at using computers, including all Microsoft products


  • High School diploma, GED
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
