Punch Press Operator

Reports to: Department Lead

Summary: Operates various punch presses within the Fabrication Department

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To maintain the highest quality standards and the right to stop production of any job if those quality standards are not met
  • Willing to assist in any and all areas within the company on an “as needed” basis
  • Learn all aspects of punch press operations
  • Perform some level of adjustments on punch presses and Spartanic strip feeds
  • Ongoing inspection of parts during a run
  • Maintain die integrity, keeping clean during jobs
  • Ensure preventive maintenance is up to date on all equipment

Level 1 Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Basic blueprint comprehension
  • Communicates effectively both written and verbally
  • Eye for detail
  • Basic math skills

Level 2 Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. (Includes all qualifications from previous level)

  • Advanced blueprint comprehension
  • Can make minor program edits on Spartanic strip feed machines
  • Able to run all manual and automatic jobs

Level 3 Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. (Includes all qualifications from previous levels)

  • Capable of training on all equipment
  • Can setup progressive die assemblies
  • Able to setup and run secondary equipment (Hudson, Clamshell, kick press)
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills with all machines

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma, GED

Physical Demands (reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties):

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
