Reports to: Department Lead
Summary: Responsible for the application of industrial spray painting and varnishing
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- To maintain the highest quality standards and the right to stop production of any job if those quality standards are not met
- Willing to assist in any and all areas within the company on an “as needed” basis
- Learn all aspects and procedures for the paint room
- Perform proper cleaning and maintenance of the equipment used
- Able to work with little or no supervision
- Mix various paints, varnish and thinners
- Apply mixtures with spray equipment
- Support resource within the Surface department
- Order and inventory all necessary supplies
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Read and comprehend blueprints
- Communicates effectively both written and verbally
- Good math skills with emphasis on liquid measure
- Possess organizational and prioritizing skills
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma, GED
- Prior painting experience a plus
Physical Demands (reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties):
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive motion involved
- Able to pass breathing test and be fitted for a respirator
- Long periods of time standing
Grade level: Hourly Hours per week: 40
