Sr. Quality Control Inspector

Reports to: Quality Group Lead

Summary: Lead resource for fulfillment of customer requirements; 1st piece, in-process and final inspections application of appropriate inspection techniques, and completion of dimensional layouts and FAI inspections

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To maintain the highest quality standards and the right to stop production of any job if those quality standards are not met
  • Willing to assist in any and all areas within the company on an “as needed” basis
  • Perform 1st piece, in-process, and final inspection of parts to assure all work is being done in accordance with blueprint and other customer specifications
  • Accurately record all test data and complete test reports prior to shipments
  • Prepare inspection/test reports and maintain the QA/QC files related to assignment
  • Maintain inspection practices standard work manual
  • Maintain department procedures in accordance with ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO/TS 16949, and company requirements
  • Document and maintain PPAP documents  including MSA and Gauge R & R studies
  • Maintain an understanding of industry quality control standards
  • Determine and apply methods for inspection of GD&T features
  • Assist in achieving quality control objectives by contributing information, analysis of data and completion of action plans
  • Support, coach, and train other inspectors in quality control techniques and reports
  • Enhance the department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities
  • Proper and accurate transactions within ERP computer system.
  • Basic proficiency in Word and Excel

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Basic proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Solid blueprint interpretation
  • Basic understanding of quality specifications
  • Solid math skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma, GED
  • Associates degree in related field preferred
  • 5+ years previous experience in quality control

  • Inspector may sit or stand while performing jobs
