Manufacturing Month | Women In Manufacturing 2025

October 9, 2025

October marks the beginning of Manufacturing Month, with October 3rd designated as Manufacturing Day.

This year, Willington Nameplate kicked off the month by sharing a group photo of our recent summer Field Day event on its social media channels.

National Manufacturing Day was established by presidential proclamation in 2014 and takes place on the first Friday in October to highlight modern manufacturing, its diverse career opportunities, and encourage innovation in the sector. This focus, in turn, emphasized the importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) studies, which can translate into future work in manufacturing.
Here at the Plate, nearly 50% of our employees are women. In the photo below, only half of the women employees are shown, but 10 different jobs are represented: order entry, accounting, human resources, estimation, pre-press, screen printing, quality & inspection, purchasing, shipping, and fabrication. Within this group, six women hold leadership positions in their departments.
