Mike Geopfert, the second child of the founders, Marcel and Sheila Geopfert, grew up in the manufacturing business his parents built in 1965. Over the years, Mike learned every aspect of manufacturing from technical to financial. When his father retired in early 2000, he and his sister, Lynn took over the business, the latter took over Human Resources duties and Mike assumed the CEO/President role. Mike brought the company to new heights during his 12 years of leadership. In 2012, Brett Greene came on as Operations Manager to help achieve the company’s growth initiatives. After a few years Brett became President and Mike remained CEO.
During his tenure, Mike looked outside the boundaries of the company grow the business. He joined many organizations to expand his network and brought in consultants to help the company learn and develop. Mike was instrumental in getting the company involved with lean manufacturing processes to help streamline operations. He had a big personality and an even bigger heart. He cared deeply about the company and those that worked for the family. Mike gave back in so many ways, both to the organization and the community at large. Just as his father did before him, Mike believed in doing whatever is necessary to satisfy our customers, and he created a structure around making that happen. By showing respect and honesty to those around him, he set the tone for a safe and welcoming environment to all who come through our doors.
Mike passed away February 23, 2020 after a short battle with cancer. His philosophy of leading with kindness and positivity are carried on by today’s leadership team.
