Willington Nameplate, Inc., (WNP) a leading manufacturer of nameplates, decals and labels, today announced that it has acquired the business assets of Decorated Products (DP) of Westfield, Massachusetts. This strategic move will strengthen WNP’s product identification market leadership by expanding its presence in automotive and industrial manufacturing sectors, as well as extending its sales channels. Willington Nameplate extended offers of employment to all of the employees at Decorated Products. The sale is complete as of March 18, 2011.
For over 60 years, DP has been a respected designer and manufacturer of high quality products. The product lines purchased by WNP are nameplates, decals and roll labels.
Mike Goepfert, General Manager and President said, “All our employees have worked very hard to make this happen. My father started this business from nothing and grew it with the help of my brother and sister to where we are now. I am very proud of the loyalty and dedication demonstrated by our employees to put us in a position to make this acquisition possible.” Both manufacturers are dedicated to delivering quality products and world-class customer service. DP is ISO 9001:2000 and TS 16949:2002 certified. WNP will be ISO 9001 and AS9100 certified in April 2011 and plans to be TS 16949 certified by year-end 2011.

Founded in 1965, WNP is a family-owned, privately held business that was formed by Marcel Goepfert in Willington, Connecticut. The current facility is in Stafford Springs, Connecticut with over 50 employees. The company was recognized in 2008 by UCONN family business for its community involvement, manufacturing growth and innovation.
WNP has been practicing lean manufacturing since September 11, 2007. This lean journey has led to increased efficiency and shorter lead times. WNP is dedicated to the philosophy of continuous improvement by investing in its people through technological advancements and education.
